Smart Thermostats & Energy Efficiency Rebates: Are You Missing Out on Winter Savings?

Updated: Dec 1, 2025

Winter in Northeast Florida may be mild, but heating costs, system wear, and energy bills still add up. That’s why now is the perfect time to explore rebates, promotions, and smart upgrades that can save you money while keeping your home or business comfortable.

As a JEA-approved HVAC contractor, Do-ALL Heating, Air & Commercial Refrigeration is proud to help customers across St. Augustine, St. Johns County, Jacksonville, and Palm Coast take advantage of valuable incentives — from smart thermostats to full system replacements.

❄️ Why Rebates Matter: Lowering Your Winter Power Bills

Even when temperatures dip only slightly, your HVAC system works harder to maintain indoor comfort. That means higher energy use — and higher bills. But with JEA rebates, you can offset those costs by upgrading to more efficient equipment and scheduling preventive maintenance that keeps your system running smoothly.

🛠️ Rebates for Smart Thermostats and Efficiency Programs

JEA Smart Thermostat Rebate Smart thermostats learn your habits, adjust automatically, and help reduce wasted energy. As a JEA-certified contractor, Do-ALL can help you qualify for a $50 rebate when you install an ENERGY STAR® smart thermostat.

JEA Efficiency Program Rebate Regular maintenance keeps your system efficient and extends its lifespan. JEA offers a $50 rebate for annual HVAC tune-ups performed by qualified contractors like Do-ALL. Thinking about a full system upgrade? You could qualify for $200 back when replacing your heating and cooling system with an ENERGY STAR®-certified air conditioner or heat pump.

🧾 Federal Tax Season = Smart Upgrade Season

In addition to local rebates, homeowners may qualify for federal tax credits when filing their annual return. Under the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit, you can claim up to 30% of the cost of eligible HVAC upgrades — including ENERGY STAR®-certified heat pumps, central air conditioners, furnaces, and smart thermostats. While individual furnace credits are capped at $600, you can combine them with other energy efficient upgrades up to an annual limit of $3,200 for all home improvement credits. This includes:

  • Air conditioning systems, including air conditioners and central air conditioners (ENERGY STAR certified and meeting efficiency standards): Up to $600

  • Heat pumps: Up to $2,000

  • Water heaters: Up to $600

  • Insulation and air sealing: Up to $1,200

  • Exterior doors: Up to $250 per door, $500 total

  • Exterior windows: Up to $600 total

These credits are claimed using IRS Form 5695, which asks about qualifying installations made during the tax year. If you’ve already upgraded your HVAC system recently, be sure to mention it when preparing your federal return — it could mean hundreds of dollars back in your pocket.
